The Juncos usually don't show up in the valley until after the first "killer frost" in the valley or first snowfall in the mountains. In the past this has traditionally been the third week in September but "times they are a changing". Last year the killer frost didn't come until the first week in November, and this year it looks to be the last week of October, still 30 days late.
