House Sparrow Invasion

House sparrows gather probably 50 at a time under, and at, the backyard platform feeder. They don't stay still for long. They swoop to the food, eat for a few seconds and swoop away.

Bird Gathering Spot

The platform feeder was a popular spot yesterday. On the left is an Oregon junco, on the right is a house sparrow, and look at the red rump on that bird on the fence. That's a male house finch.

Sweet Oregon Junco Gal

Messy Bird Bath

A semi-frozen bird bath. I'll clean it up when it warms up. The birds that love it are house sparrows, which come to winter in the yard.
