Flower Tour: Deep Purple Clematis

The clematis is blooming. In front of it is mallow, which will bloom just after the clematis is finished.

Mallow Bloom

Mallow is a perennial that grows 4 to 5 feet tall and blooms in mid-July. The flowers are usually white, but this year, they have pink hues.

Mallow Flower

A real mallow flower. This delicate blossoms cluster at the end of stems about four feet tall. Supposedly, every part of the plant is edible, including the roots. I also grow "false mallow." The flower is similar, but the foliage is different, and the false mallow only grows about two feet tall. Below is the false mallow for comparison.
