Black-Chinned Hummingbird at the Feeder

This is the most common type of hummingbird in our Boise backyard. It's a female black-chinned hummingbird. Only the adult males have a truly "black chin."

This will sound pretty naive, but .... I have never seen a hummingbird with his wings by his side! Heh!

The few hummingbirds I see each year are always flying in mid air as they reach into the feeder or the flower.

You actually got a picture of the hummingbird's wing without a lot of blur -- that is incredible!

I enjoy all these photos -- really nice.

Take care.
