Full Wolf Moon, a.k.a. "Mini-Moon"

The January full moon is called the Wolf Moon. It's also a mini-moon, the opposite of the super moon hype. The difference in appearance of size isn't likely to be something we can really notice, but it happens a couple of hours after the moon rises.

Composting in Winter

This is a "holding pile," where I collect compost-able items and then stir it once every couple of weeks...if I can. The ground and top of the pile has been frozen. Warm temperatures are needed for active composting, but don't let the cold stop you from gathering materials for your piles. The gray material is dryer lint, and yes, you can compost that.
