Ivy Geranium

An ivy geranium bloom from the hanging basket at the front entryway. I really like the dark green foliage on this geranium, and house finches were attracted to it, too. They were shopping this basket for nest-building earlier in the season.

The Geranium that Never Blooms

This is a "snowflake" scented geranium that has never bloomed for me. I've had it for three years, I think. My friend Faith picked it up at an herb nursery that was going out of business. I overwinter it indoors where it gets leggy and strange-looking, then it fills in nicely during its summer outside.

Happy Geranium

Most things in the garden are slowly dying, or getting ready to sleep for the winter. Our cooler weather has made the geraniums happy. They won't survive the winter unless I bring them inside. I may bring this one in, and I have another ancient one that never blooms that I'll shelter for the cold season.
