My geraniums are blooming bright this week. These are the plants I bring indoors for the winter. I don't remember them blooming this big last December, though.

Geraniums in for the Winter

A few of the geraniums now in for the winter. They'll grow spindly over the next few months, although they'll also bloom every few weeks. I'll give them good haircuts before they go back out in the spring.

Wintering Geranium Wakes Up

Followers of the BDP Garden Shot blog may remember that I brought some prized geraniums inside for the winter. I do that every year, and even though they're not happy indoors, they survive until late spring when they get play outside again for the summer. This one has sent out a little blossom to say "hello" to spring.

The Winter Geranium Nursery

Look at these sickly geraniums. Even though they don't look the best, they will survive in a spare room in my house until May of next year - when it will be safe to put them outside again. Some of these are scented geraniums, and they're worth nursing through the cold months.
