The Winter Geranium Nursery

Look at these sickly geraniums. Even though they don't look the best, they will survive in a spare room in my house until May of next year - when it will be safe to put them outside again. Some of these are scented geraniums, and they're worth nursing through the cold months.

Nice to keep them over winter. People always kept things like this over winter but that habit disappeared when we all got so much money that we began throwing things out and getting new.

I remember mother used to squash tomatoes on the old front porch and let the seeds dry and that was put in an envelope and brought back out in the spring and we planted the seed again. She did the same on onions and all the different kinds of beans.

We might have to go back to those days.
