Peonies Peeking Out

They always peek up looking so red, but the leaves will become green and they'll bloom quickly for late spring. Ants are just crazy about the sugary dew on peonies. I'll get a close-up of them when the buds form. I've read the ants don't do any damage - they just like to visit.

Nature works of in funny ways.

Perhaps ants walking around do something good (like spreading pollen on their feet) that we don't know about.

Yeah, my peonies look like that, too - despite the rain and freezing weather. I like your images. Have you ever tried doing still life photography of your own flowers?

I love doing that! I got a lot of extra seeds to plant so I'll have plenty left in the garden after I photograph some inside.

Today, I posted a still life image of peonies I did a few years ago. You can check it out at http://photographyhints.blogspot.com
