Weeping Cherry Blooming
Our dwarf weeping cherry is in full bloom. This tree is charming in the spring and fall, and yet, I've been tempted to axe it because it's a buggy thing. I've tried all kinds of treatments, and paid others to treat it, and it seems to insist on having a symbiotic relationship with creepy pests.

Hi there, my wife would love dwarf weeping cherry trees. Do you know what size yours has grown to, as the ones we've been offered are 2.5m x 2.5m.

Hi Paul - the tree has been about 4 feet tall for the 10 years we've lived here - and 4 feet wide. So I think it's done on its vertical growth. The trunk has grown slightly fatter during that time. The tree WILL spread horizontally unless you keep it in check with regular trimming.

We told our gardener what we wanted (one was for a small memorial garden) and he brought the wrong ones, so my wife was very upset.

Sorry to be a pest - and I know this is a long shot, as your tree came with the house - but I was wondering if you knew what type of tree your weeping blossom is?
We've now been offered a prunus autumnalis but this grows to 6-7 feet tall and has purple leaves, however my wife has her heart set on an exact copy of yours...

Hi Paul. I wish I DID know because I've been asked many times, even by my neighbors, who want one just like it. As fair as height, it really is just 4 feet tall. So it's definitely a dwarf variety of some sort. Good luck.
