A Kitty That's Been Hanging Around A Lot

This white cat is hanging around a lot. We're not sure if she/he has a home and is using our place as a second home, or if this is truly a stray. It seems fairly tame, doesn't run too far when we appear, but won't let us touch.

How close are your neighbors? Close enough for this kitty to have just found a new sunning spot? Maybe away from a new Christmas puppy? Does he/she look like an old cat, one that needs shelter? White cats don't last long outdoors at night. My dearest pet is a 16-year-old white cat, though, so I'm very cautious.

Hi SD Farmgirl. Yep, I have neighbors nearby, and one of them has had a lot of cats and dogs at times. It could be one of their crew, if so, it doesn't like their house anymore. I hope to get a better look at this kitty soon for a health check. Interestingly, the one neighbor cat who is in our yard a lot doesn't seem to mind this kitty, and he's usually pretty territorial about our yard.

Well, hopefully it's not a mama looking for a place to have some kittens! Although, our best farm cat when I was a kid arrived that way. But cats sure can add up quickly. In remember one year we had 19! That's the one time we weren't sad when the young males ran off and never came back. haha

I know the story on the kitty. Renters a block away say the previous renters left it behind. So, that's where it came from. I'll work on making friends, get it checked out, make sure NO KITTENS will arrive, and try to get it a home. Renters on that same block abandoned another cat early last summer that way. I don't understand why you leave a member of your family behind when you move.

This little guy/girl came into my parents house one night and was a very friendly little one. If I remember right it ran and jumped in the bathtub and just had the time of its life being petted by us.

Hi Art - good to know that kitty was looking for friends. I did scoop him up, he turned out to be such a lover boy. He got fixed, got a bath and was adopted by someone through Northwest Animala Companions.
